2011 had been a very good year for me careerwise and otherwise. I traveled to many places in my country a lot, got promoted, had three grandchildren. God has really been good to me.
Now I am grateful that I am given another year to my life. On New year's Day I prepared as usual and invited my sisters and their families to come over. I like these times when all of us are here. There were things (mostly financial) that we sorted out and two of my sisters were smiling when somehow a fraction of it was resolved. Then we spend the whole day with videoke. I am the only one not so confident with my singing although I sing when I am alone. The children too, who are all grown up now joined and enjoyed the singing party.(see photos)
If I look back now, I remembered I said Christmas would not be the same as it used to be. Although we went to Mom in law's house, the old gaeity was absent, and Mom was teary eyed most of the time. We were the only family who were there, Nona was busy, the other sister was and is very sick and could not come. The day took on a holiday mood only when Nieka and Nikki and the very smart baby of the family came to open her gifts. This time she received her gifts not from Tito Jun( who had always played Sta Claus since father in law died) , but whose vocal cords need intensive overhaul but from Lola Sine herself.
All's well that ends well. What was important is that we have kept certain family traditions, like attending the Midnight Mass (with little Titan and his parents) and the New Year's Eve mass with just the three of us, Dad, Angie and I.
It is going to be a peaceful and bountiful 2012. That is the forecast for this year.
