Have you ever thought of flying like a fox from that bridge to this little shed on the foreground?
It is possible if you are not faint hearted. I discovered this zip line in Agas-agas, Southern Leyte, when we went to a university there for some research activity. We were lucky to have hitched with the VICARP ( a researched based establishment based in Leyte) whose officials and researchers took us to this site. I did not have enough information about how high the line was, but we were lucky to see one "flyer" actually do it.
The men on guard were quick enough to catch her and she was smiling when she dismounted. I asked her if it was scary and she said, not a bit. It was more exciting than being on a plane, she said. She was proud to say that she dared the flight at her age. She said she was 66 and compared the experience as similar to climbing a coconut tree. I asked her if she climbed coconuts and she said, yes, many times..
I was kind of embarrassed because I wouldnt dare do that feat. But I congratulated her for her courage.
The boys who helped her dismount said there are many enthusiasts there on weekends. There were times when they would cater to more than a hundred clientele.
I am doing this blog hurriedly as tomorrow I will be off on an educational tour sponsored by the College. Our destination is Ilocandia and Baguio, and expectedly we shall be back by the 21st of May. Byeeee, I will be missing you, but see you soon.
