Celebrating motherhood-july 27

The recent days have been a series of comings and goings.  Baptism, reunion, disco, dinners with family, it was all so fun then suddenly, it is all gone. It started with the idea of a grand family reunion espoused as always by my Norwegian sister in law. My son from Manila came home with little Ayesha Jade and together with my other grandson Tristan Ken, we had a grand baptism. While I was in the midst of all the gaiety I was all the time wondering about about my youngest child who was expecting her firstborn too and whom I have been pushing to deliver the baby soon enough so she could join the reunion. That was silly of course but I wanted her so much to be with us on reunion time, not out alone in some hospital with only her husband attending to her. So on the day of the reunion I asked my youngest son to fetch her with her two day old son and her husband to come home to be with the clan. They arrived, travel-weary, with bags and all right into the disco venue where music was loud and the lights were dim. But the babies (except Titan who enjoyed much attention) were oblivious to all these, passed excitedly from one pair of arms to another.
My sister in law from Norway reminded me of how I used to complain that I was the only one who did not have grandchildren. Now I have three gifted to me in just one year. Isn't it wonderful?
This July event  has been  very memorable as for once I had all my children together in my house. I had to rush the job in the second floor which needed plaster finish, lights and painting so it could be habitable.
Well as expected it housed the boys with my nephew Derrick while my daughter reoccupied her room which had been left vacant after she decided to work in Cebu. She will be around until her maternity leave is over then we shall have another baptism before she leaves back for work.
Then the departures started. Derrick was first to go, then Mikol and his family. The Norwegians left too and so with those who had to go back to Cebu and Manila and Cagayan. Then I had to leave for this thing in Ateneo which will take about a week. I regretted not being able to see my second son   off  back to  Cagayan de Oro where he works. He is due for Cebu tomorrow.
So when I finish my business here in the Ateneo de Manila University, I will be going home to a rather silent house, no not really, as there are still two babies there who will fill the house with their babbling and wailing which have become music to my ears recently. And alone in this room here I feel kinda lonely for that kind of noise.
